This is my map for the Mapmaking Tournament 2009 - 1v1
Mapversion: v1_g was the version the judges had.
It was elected by the judges to the 4th place from 14.
In this map it is possible to play a 1 vs.1 gaem but you can also play up to 8 wizards.
You can set wizards as AI if you like but you can also decide to take out all AI wizards.
You can alos deciede to play with the AI empty kingdoms on or off.
In this this map you can deciede this all when you set up the map and you don´t need to change anything in the mapeditor for this settings.
It is possible to choose this all ingame!
I made a very balanced map I think.
I made 40 complete new heros and 136 new unique items for this map and removed all the boring old stuff.
Special items and locations are included and you can even chose to play with this special locations or lave them out of the game.
This are onyl the most important facts about this map.
You will find a detailed information paper in this zip file where you can find some more informations.
To get a more fantasy-like-feeling for this world I made here I will tell you the story of this world now in short words.

The Arena of Magic and Power is an arena of the gods, made for the warmongering wizards of the old earth.
It was made by the gods to cool down the hunger for power of the wizards.
It is a turnament arena wher wizards can fight each other.
The winner will reign the earth for 1000 years until a new turnament is called out by the gods.
In this turnament arena any wizard who dares to face the chamber of void for 1000 years (if he lose) can fight the other wizards.
This can be a 1 vs. 1 challenge or even a challenge against 7 other wizards (depends who dares to face the void).
1000 years are over again and the gods call the wizards today!
It´s up to you now!
Do you dare to win the world or if you loose, stay imprisoned for 1000 years in the chamber of madness?
Little bit strange... will be a while till me and my friend try it out.
He doesn't really like to complicated (or how to discribe this map) maps and me neither.

Do you know of any strange problems with the map? I am playing 2 player game, tigran v undead. The game crashes at the start of the tigran turn every time. Then on reload it is fine but gives me a cheater message...
All AI are dead option, AI areas are closed option, seeing pools on and seahorse on.

I´m sorry but I don´t know about such a problem. I have played some options ans setings in testgames. I have also played the Tigrans in one of my tesgames.
I played the map with seahorse items on, AI players on and AI realms onON and seeing pools on and it worked fine.
I have played with AI off and their realms off but only for a short testgame (some turns).
In all my testgames the map works fine.
Hoe many days do you play so far?
Is it a young game so maby try again?
I have tryed it now with your settings.
Two human players. Tirgans and Undead.
Game Options are:
AI players off
AI Realms off
Spying Seeings pools on
Seahorse Items on
I played 5 turns but have not moved much.
the game has not chrashed so far.
I can send you this savegame if you like.
I haveno idea why your game crash.
Maybe it´s one of the few bad bugs in AoWSM?
Do you have placed the dark capluse items when you play undead or is there something special so far in your game?

Maybe I spoke one turn too quickly! Your maps are that clever that as soon as I asked you about it, then it worked fine! :) For one turn anyway. Looks like it will not be explained.
It was not a big deal, just asking cos I can...

Gets a little slow at times with the AIs on. Navigating the two special center areas is difficult as they are so busy.
Really hard to rate. However, restrictions seem to hurt the AIs more then a human player.
The configuratability of the game is really unique to Groll creations.
Map Design: 5
Visually stunning with a well thought out layout.
Good starting background but not much development during the game.
Rated from a Single Player perspective which might be where this map will be the most accepted.

All the mapmakers can rely on you.
Thanks for all the votes for all the maps you have played and voted so far.
Other players should understand you as a good example how to vote and vote like you.
You show how it works. Even when someone don´t like to write a lot it is possible to make a vote and give feedback for the mapmakers and give players an idea what the map is.
You should get a price or should be honoured for your comments and votes.

The idea of limited options to recruit high level or any troops may be appealing. And may be not.
Mana is much greater issue than gold, so some races may gain an advantage.
Love Seahorse artefacts.
Map Design: 4
Sometimes game crushes on end of a turn.
Do not be fooled by my not perfect grades - this is a very solid map that I definitely recommend.

Just one more little thought - there are two items with Possessed ability. These are dangerous because a couple of scenarios can be imagined where they may brake the balance.
