Well, I got tired of waiting for the promised City maps from JamesEde and Kaskoid, so I decided to do one for myself. It’s not perfect, Nosebiter (the orc) has a slight positional edge, but not enough to offset the other two if they should gang up on him. Perhaps you can consider it a “handicap”.
In SP the map plays much too easy, IMO. I thought about making an SP version of the map, but considering how open it is, the work to make it play well SP somewhat exceeds my enthusiasm for the task. Still, you may enjoy playing through it just to explore, take in the sights and have fun with the random events.
Consider the difficulty level "average" for MP and "novice" for SP.
Enough with the negative, the map DOES feature entirely custom heroes and wizards. I didn't use any of my stock heroes (which may be getting familiar to some of you by now. Don't worry, they'll be back in my next map, I'm sure,) since the theme of the map demanded something different. There are also some of my trademark "unpredictable" teleporters and viewing waters, (if ideas you've ripped off from better mapmakers can fairly be claimed as 'trademark'...) Plus the aforementioned urban terrain.
Thanks as always to The Sheik for the wonderful Wizard artwork.
Also thanks to Aquamote (gone but not forgotten,) for the tollbooth trick.
Thanks to Talon Thorn for the trigger/flag stuff in the Library - excellent info for the script challenged.
Thanks Morgul for the whole City tile concept (I'm told he came up with it first, although I kind of think I first saw it in the "rotating gallery of pretty things" on the main page without knowing who actually came up with it.)
Finally, thanks to all those who have downloaded my previous maps, especially those audacious souls who've MP turn logged 'em here on Heaven Games.
