Quick Start :
For those that don't have time or find it boring to read lengthy instructions, the basic rules are explained when the game starts. So all you have to do is pick your wizard and start the game! For the rest of you, read on for some hints!
Story :
Once every 4 years in the Macubi desert a strange spectacle takes place, as two wizards clash in a duel over mana and.... pigs! It all began hundreds of years ago, when several wild boars were spotted in the desert. One clever wizard named Gris collected these pigs and sacrificed them to the gods. The gods liked his gesture, and gave him 200 mana in return for every boar. Over the years, this was turned into a ritual and now a days two of the continents most powerful wizards meet here to find out who will rule the continent. The one who first collects 10000 mana is the winner and will rule for the next four years.
The gods think this is extremely fun and holds a barbeque while watching the spectacle. They have even installed a giant grill to make the sacrificing easier, and to provide them with fresh pork.
Why are there pigs in the desert? Well, 50 years ago it was discovered that the Dwarfs had one of their secret boar research facilities right under the desert. Some of the boars must have escaped and now they breed in the wild. The dwarfs still use the facility and they don't like others snooping around down there, especially not boar-stealing wizards!
Recently, some weird things has been happening in Macubi. The earth surrounding magic nodes has started to crumble, and some people say they have seen strange looking creatures roaming the desert. The elders call them Demons....
Rules :
* First wizard that owns 10000 mana wins.
* Each pig gives 200 mana when it enters the middle of the Divine Grill. Any summoned boars will not count!
* If a wizard gets killed he will respawn in his safehouse.
* The tigran city next to the grill has 1000 mana in its treasury.
Hints :
* Boars cost mana to own, so get them to the grill quickly!
* Some races increase your mana income...
* Some races have units with control animal abilities...
* There are only 85 boars out there and some will probably die in the process, so you'll have to produce mana in other ways as well.
* Watch the scoreboard in the underground, it helps you keep track of your opponent.
Good luck, you'll need it!

This map was entered for The Wizards Of Creation mapmaking competition and it was the WINNER of the MP map catagory.
So, on behalf of Swolte and I (and the WOC) here is an edited copy of the judging report (to account for the fact that it is V1.1) Please do not pay too much attention to the actual individual marks as I have mainly worked on getting the overall mark to be the same as we judged it. (It was impossible to completly merge the 2 judging templates!)
Playability 50 out of 60
Jamie says - A very fun, very different and very creative map. I have no idea how the author came up with this idea, but it works very well. The replay value is great because you will keep on wanting to see how many pigs you can get. (Anyone reading this who hasn’t seen the map, go and get it or else you won’t have a clue what I am talking about!) There are however a few balance issues, none of them very bad but in a game where every pig counts, it’s important.
Swolte says - It's turn effects are huge for pbem and I doubt if the map is pretty balanced. A test game ran into some problems as well. In the end it won't matter much since it is built around having fun. And fun it is, the creativity is drooling off this one! A must play!!
Visual Beauty 21 out of 25
Jamie says - This map looks way above average everywhere with some cleverly designed places, in particular the Screamer and the Howler. The map is well laid out and it gets harder as you move upwards!
Swolte says - High detail in all terrain. Pretty use of the latest in mapmaking tricks! Not stunningly beautiful, but certainly a master of the editor at work here..
Storyline and events 13 out of 15
Jamie says - The storyline is just about adequate for a MP map; however, I would have liked to see non-customisable wizards, perhaps with a bit of background about their role in the Pig Hunt! There are lots of custom heroes and items which is good. The events are well planned and make a complex scenario possible.
Swolte says - Wauw! Originality at it's best! I must compliment the designer of this map, he/she is blessed with a great amount of creativity and humor!
Total – 82/100
Jamie says - This map is perfect for a lighthearted, simple game. However, as fat begins to fry, players will fight with everything they have to gain an extra pig! The Dwarven testing ground looked great, however, I never went near it. Making the defences lighter as well as setting the pigs there to refuge could help this place become used more. As it is at the moment, I found that things lost the initial rush once the pigs had all gone and it almost turned back into normal AoW2 playing. Maybe teleporting more pigs later in the game could help, perhaps with guardians.
