"Labyrinth" is a large single-player map, with lots of events (storyline and such), custom heroes & items, designed with a lot of hack & slash in mind.
Help Merlin has to lead the remainder of his army (that got badly beaten by Tempest) back home! The only road home lies through the Great Labyrinth, which is home to many enemies...
The rest of the story tells itself...
The Labyrinth is a maze, but not the "damn, wrong way again" kind of maze, but rather "don't care which way to go, lots of interesting things everywhere" kind of maze; besides, you'll get lots of help in finding your way, so that won't be a problem.
The map is supposed to be challenging (the AI gets huge advantage; you're alone against everyone), but if it's too challenging, you can always lower the AI setting (the default is CPU-Emperor)...
Restrictions: only the usual - don't use Call Hero spell! It will ruin the fun, and besides it's guaranteed not to help you in any way.
Enjoy!
P.S. Verion 1.1 is a small patch, fixing the problem that there's no other way to learn an important part of the story than from Shenga; empty sign; and a few more minor changes. |

Very playable map with a nice story. I tried to play with AI on emperor, but that was impossible. I then played on squire, and that was a bit easy... :) Perhaps somewhere in between is fine, but emperor is way too hard.
The design of the map is original, but underground only can get a bit boring. I think it's good though that the underground actually looks like underground and not a lot of grasslands etc.
Custom made wizards would have been nice, as well as some more heroes...
I played version 1.0 and found a few bugs, but not any that made it unplayable.
Anyway, really cool map and I recommend it.[Edited on 07/14/03 @ 05:03 PM]

Hello Ola and very nice map. But I cannot get out of the Gaya grounds. I have fufuilled the Spirit's quest, been thanked, been given her two warriors, but I keep getting beemed back in...am I stuck forever? |

No, you're not stuck forever. Remember when Gaya told you something like "I won't let you leave with what you plundered here"? She meant the items of the dead Gaya Priests. Drop them, or give them to someone else, and you'll be able to get out. Maybe I should've made her message a bit clearer about this... |

Thank you :-) I should have guessed as much. |

Great fun, and interesting enough to play all the way through even when you get a tad powerful once your heroes hit Lvl 12-15.
I found one little "bug" if that is what it is. It seems impossible to finish the Gaya quest? I killed the undead baddy, took the Esme diadem back to the Life node in Gaya territory, but when I arrived there, apparently the Esme diadem also triggers the "I won't let you leave" event and teleported me inside.
Moving to the Life Node, no "End of Quest".
Dropping the Diadem on Life Node: No End.
Waiting a turn in both cases: No end.
Tries some other hexes, but nothing.
Am I missing something? |
