Updated 30/06 - 2009. Fixed Nekron so hes unplayable(You can still choose him since map aint password protected, but i advise you not too if u want a balanced game). Fixed so all of the Wizards starts with a random hero.

So this is my remapped version of the two previously posted Thirst For Power maps.

Remember, as we got into a discussion in last topic, i dont spend much time mapping details and such, im more for the gameplay and balance, and i think the balance is even better in this map than in the previous one.

The reason i remapp the same map 2-3 times is to keep an intrest in my all-time favorite Age of Wonders II map ever, incase you wonder.

So we got 4 races that existed in the previous two maps and a newcomer, Nekron. Also mapped out alot more Ancient Ruins and such, since im a big fan of items, also more castles.

Anyway please comment on the map if you get a chance too, i'd love to hear some feedback.

The author does seem to deliver what he claims!

The map looks interesting from a strategic point of view. Well placed teleporters leave some room for surprise, and the middle has some interesting items to gain! The map seems most suited for multiplayer, with a large emphasis on direct and early battles. Indeed, this should play quite interesting. I wonder why this author had not submitted anything for the tournament mapmaking contest. Would have been good!

I am not sure why Nekron is balanced so differently as compared to the rest. I think it merely complicates the allocation of players to Wizards if one wants a balanced game.

For the rest, the mapmaking is sufficient! I think much better than previous attempts. There are some areas, like the Orc one, that surely required some imagination to design.

As the author denoted, the emphasis is on playability, and so the story is bland, and everything is quite standard in terms of heroes and items (nothing/little custom made).

Nice addition. If it were 4 player, I may even consider playing it MP - pbem.

Well the thought was to make Nekron a little bit more of a 'competition' then the rest, hence the start more in the middle so he gets a little bit of advantage, starting-wise. Though when i played the map in Single player, he didnt seem to play very aggressivly. It was more as if he held on til he saved up some units to move. Which is usually what the AI does. Perhaps maybe I should have made him 'unplayable' for the downloaders.

I cant take credit for most of the mapping since i havent made it from scratch, more like improved it on a few levels.

The original map contains 4 wizards though(Karissa, Artica, Marinus and Fangir) and the teleporter thing aswell..
