Family Feud (Titans Choice) is a map that is made to test a concept. The concept is which race, or more specifically, which combination of magic and races are the strongest? This has been discussed on forums as to your favourites, but it is now a test to find the best. I am obviously interested in knowing who wins!
"Welcome to your doom!"
The voice booms out from the void as your head still spins from the magical transport. You look around and wonder what this place is.
"Where? What?" - you mutter...
"You are in the Void and there you will stay until you obey my words and fight! You have been chosen to compete in (Mortal Combat) a challenge to save your homes and your Realm. The only way out is to fight and win."
"How? Why?"
"SILENCE!! How and why are only for me to know. All you need to know is that you have choices to make to how you fight. The choices make the man they say - well that is the key here. You have choices, as do your opponents. You represent your races and you can choose any of them save the one of each (good / neutral / evil) that I have chosen".
"Firstly - choose your favourite. Then you must send those favourites through any of the portals to populate your kingdom with that race. The areas are open to all, although some terrain may not be so friendly to your race - this is also your choice as to where you send your men and beast. If you take an area, it will be closed to your enemies. Be aware that taking an area from them may be more beneficial than chosing a sweeter area for yourself."
"Choose wisely..."

This is very good map! I liked it a lot. The concept of the choices at the start is really interesting. The landscape is beautiful and all details seem well thought of,including funny roadsigns :). I definately look for other maps created by the map maker.
At my fight, I noticed towards the end that the 2 remaining enemies, Gandalf and Lord Sauron, had made alliance to stop the instoppable armies of Lord Aragorn (me). I find this a nice twist, as the trap of Sauron to lure Gandalf to the dark side finally seemed succesfull.
Thanks for this wonderful work!
PS. As I played the map with BNW3 resources I find it is not appropriate to write a full review. But I would say close or on the 5.0 mark is appropriate :)[Edited on 12/11/08 @ 06:30 AM]

Thanks nvc, glad to hear good feedback. This is available in multi play and it plays really nicely especially when two gang up on one when one side becomes too big! I have done a few maps that are on the forum and look forward to other feedback... If you change your mind and fancy posting me a 5.0 then feel free! ;) This has to be my fav map I have written, but Family Feud 1 and 2 have been received quite well. Cheers.

I am surprised I forgot to rate this map. Anyway, I see you have a new update regarding Ironman. I have started to play one of them, but don't see much difference from before. What's new with the IronMan series of these maps?
I would rate, but the current ratings get the point across that these are very good maps. |

Hi RP. The main difference is decadence rather than allowing survivor. Cuts down troops. Also, I think I allied all the AIs and let Cronos out straight away. Still, if you want harder then set techophobe too.
Cheers

Hi Ibobs, thanks for the contribution of another good map. I have enjoy playing your family feud series for a while.
There is one thing I personally dislike is that there are way too many teleports. This takes away a lot of strategy play(most scenario disable teleport gate for this reason). Nevertheless an excellent map and I hope to see more to come.

Thanks cyancurve for the review and taking the time to post. I'm glad you have enjoyed my maps. I am in a rut on the map making front at the minute. I did the competition map so there is one new one ready, but I did that mainly cos it was small. Getting my ass in gear to do a new bigger one is proving problematic... |

Playability: 2
I decided to check out this map and discovered that Ibobs and I have incredibly disparate tastes in what makes a good map. This map is more of an "adventure" than a war game. I consider AoW:SM a war game and a good map forces tactical decisions. This map is simply without tactics.
Balance: 1
There is no balance. Quite simply it is an adventure game and if played as a war game it is incredibly easy to win.
Creativity: 3
Probably the best feature of the map this design offers a fair bit of creative effort.
Map Design: 2
Cluttered. I like maps that have an environment that makes sense and subtly shifts from terrain type to expected terrain type. This design struck me as more of a "Heroes of Might and Magic" with an overabundance of clutter taking the place of carefully chosen chokepoints, connections and landmarks that would allow the AI to benefit from a well designed map - that is utterly lacking here.
Story/Instructions: 3
Adequate.
