I will start by saying this is easily my best map so far.

It is made to be plated by four humans in the PBEM/hostseat environment. You will have to make alterations to play it in another mode.

I may make balance changes to it later, depending on the reaction i get. Each player starts with a unique "advantage" that i may need to boost/Nerf.

Please give it a look over, i guarantee it will blow my other works right out of the water ;).

"This story takes place far away from the blessed continent and the valley of wonders, on a little piece of land called goblin island. The one place in the world where goblins truly rain supreme.

And on this goblin island there was a goblin king, and he was amazing at his job, he was able to keep even the unruly goblins content.

Untell one of his slaves, who he had foolishly taken alone to his bedchamber, killed him with his own knife...

Goblins (being goblins) went into total anarchy, every town had riots, and, as the king had no successor (he was not very good with girls you see), it was up to his generals to bring peace (or chaos) to the goblin lands.

The slave masters desire is to restore order to the land with his hierarchy of personal under/unpaid workers...

The warlord wants to turn the island into a breeding ground for goblin armies, leading them off to conquer far away lands

The sorceress, plans to build a 7 story wizard tower on the island, and make the whole chunk of land her masterpiece

And the shaman, hearing of these plots vowed to do all he could to stop there mad schemes.

And each general making a vow to put there plans into action, caused ancient and unseen magics to alert the spirits of the realms to what was going on. The spirits have never seen this before, they have had countless battles with each other over millions of years, but they have never seen this, a stage set so... perfectly

Order cared not whether it was order under a tyrannical whip. And supported the slave master.

War was delighted to hear of the warlords plans, and decided to aid him

Magic, only seeing a few 7 story wizard towers in her entire life whole heartedly supported the sorceress.

And nature, not celebrating at the idea of hierarchys of slaves, farms for fresh solders, or 7 story wizards towers, could only side with the shaman.

Each spirit used there powers to give the general of there choosing a (somewhat distorted) vision of what would happen to the island if there counter parts would win. And each spirit talked with there chosen generals and told them to build a shrine in honer of the respective spirit. The generals each took a small town, with there remaining forces and used the last of there gold to build the shrines, and each got there own reward.

It is now time to see a battle

Between goblin hordes

Between generals without a king

But mostly between brothers and sisters."

I agree this is your best map so far!
The terrain is quite natural and varied. Transitions between areas are sometimes a bit abrupt, but its only in a few places, and not really a nuisance.

I am really impressed by the Wizards and their 'special advantages'. This is a great idea. For example, the Sorceress gets extra mana, whereas the Shaman has the ability to recruit creatures. They could be a bit better balanced though, having two large bears available, doesn't really compare to an extra combat spell for the Warlord (especially in PBEM where the AI is casting).

The design is very interesting. There have been maps with a sea, or giant lake in the middle but this maps really makes it an atoll where you have the feeling you're still in the middle of the sea. Naval action could play a big role in this map!

I was actually thinking the bears might be too much, and the extra spells too little...

Okay, back to commenting......

This map is extremely well-balanced and innovative. One of its virtues is that the author has made use of the simplest items to great effect. So gameplay-wise, I see it is good, stable solid stuff. Potatoes to go with your roast beef.
Mentork: I've always tried to introduce "special advantages" to my wizards, whether by embedding abilities and such. My only regret was when I had a blonde bombshell, one of the abilities I COULD NOT EMBED was "seduce" :,(

Unfortunately graphics-wise, it's all in the "potatoes" section. When I play this game, and many other scenarios I often get the feeling that I'm playing on a Ludo board or something like that. This map, like many lesser and junior ones could have used several licks of paint. In fact, I am improving the terrain of this map even as I type this, practising for my next map.
