This is the first map I’ve posted and would like feedback on what I’ve put together. I’ve been working on it off and on for the last few years and just recently finished testing it. I would like to acknowledge the posters and contributors to this site I have taken ideas and downloads that have posted and used them to expand the gameplay, story, and visuals. The game is long even in multiplayer and was designed with classic mode in mind; though you can play simultaneous mode it does give the AI a major advantage. Have fun with it I know I did and still am.
Eons ago the Shadow Demons were locked within the Shadow Lands. Now in the present the races of the earth have forgotten what came before and the knowledge of the Shadows has passed unto legend and myth. Unfortunately the Shadows have not forgotten what the races of the earth had done to them and have concocted an elaborate plan of revenge. They have influenced, bribed, and manipulated war and strife between the races of the earth and now that distrust and war ravages the land the Shadows are ready to make their presence known and the battle for survival has begun. Can the races of the earth put aside their differences and battle together or will the Shadows devourer all...can one person unite or gather enough strength to fight off the encroaching Shadows.
*** I've made some major changes to the Shadow Demons making them a major threat much sooner and a great deal more difficult to combat. I've also added the Nomads as a playable race to balance the other races and I've also tweaked some of the other races to balance out the start.***
Well, this certainly is a high action map once it will be going! I don't like this kind of map, but that is a personal preference and not a criticism on the map.
What struck me is the amount of cities and wizard towers. This will ensure a whole new type of game with a large emphasis on magic and lots of income which will generate lots of armies and the support of powerful city structures (probably allowing armies to teleport themselves everywhere!).
The strategic design seems ok, although I am not sure whether the AI Devourer will be a challenge to a good human player with this many resources. There might be some balance issues between the human Wizards as well, but those are also dependent upon AI behaviour.
Have you play tested this map (let the AI run for 50+ turns, use the cheats to get vision, etc...)? I am asking because I do think the map has even better great potential with some fine-tuning.
The map-painting is not terribly detailed, but perhaps, because of the density of cities, it is better this way.
Again, not my style, but it should prove to be a very interesting and unique experience for sure. Definitely check this out, you might be finding the game of your life on here!

Too many cities so that the game becomes one major battle after another. Game becomes very time consuming with progress grudging.
Emperorer AIs with resources are tough, especially when doing battle with from 3-4 at a time.
Nothing stands out here other then total lack of temples which does take out the randomn quest issues.
Map Design: 4
Well done map with interesting route and control points. Unique terrain for different races, etc... This is the second strongest point after balance.
Good starting story but nothing much develops after that.
I have played for many hours/days on this beast. Unique tactics have to be developed depending on which race you are the most engaged with at one time.
