I want to thank everyone who is involved in running and administering this website and keeping one of the greatest games sound and alive. This is my first submission and the second map I ever made in the AowEd. So, please, give constructive criticism.

-=about the gameplay=-

The map has many buildings checked off (but not disabled), this is the way is it supposed to be. However, you may turn them back on if you wish (I highly advise you not to- it was never tested with all the buildings on).

Such was done to diminish the power of magic (the WT is off as well, and you have to protect your wizard at all costs), high lvl units are disabled, but can be found on the map. There are also secret heroes (original ones + some added ones), and many magical items to be found both on the surface and underground. The shadow world is there merely for "fast travel". The item teleportation is disabled to increase the "value" of items (unfortunately, the AI somehow can teleport items)

Please have people enjoy maps in the way they choose and not password protect them.

Sorry as this is my first ever post and I am yet not familiar with all the rules.
The file has been updated to a non-password protected version
also, some minor bugs has been fixed and location of some wizards has been slightly altered (Draconian wizard was moved to a different town due to being too close to Halflings. Shadow elves wizard wizard has been moved to the most left castle on the island for the same reason)

Playability: 3
Not enough stuff for the size of the map. It would be more interesting on a smaller map surface. Too much time just spent traveling. AI does not handle water well, so not really a single player map.

Balance: 4
Looks relatively fair in resource distribution.

Creativity: 4
AOW1 recreated in AOW2?

Map Design: 3
I haven't seen much unique here. Again smaller denser would be better.

Story/Instructions: 2
Almost none, which isn't unusual. However, not even any backstory on the wizards or heros.

Additional Comments:
It might seem harsh, but I try to be consistent with my ratings so that they mean something.
Strategic design:
Seems nice. None of the wizards start out with Wizard towers and most wizards are separated by water. This should definitely provide for some interesting gameplay!

The underground, I feel, has poor strategic design. Though the maze like setup is nice, there are few resources and the long distances probably make for tedious play. Some areas can take days of travel for an army and lead to nothing but a node.

Although the wizards do have equal starting strengths, some have, due to their position significant disadvantage. For example, being in the center of a map is very difficult because attacks can come from every side. I can see little compensation for that.

Map Design:
I have to say that I was most impressed with this for a first map. There are no high end mapmaking tricks, but the landscape has a simplicity which is refreshing. Not too much, thats for sure, but effective enough to create a unique atmosphere.

Thanks for the constructive criticism

The races are supposed to be slightly unbalanced so players can experience different challenge levels.

Changes in this update:
-Added elven boats (halflings) and draconian turtles (draconians)
-Shadow world and underground are removed, goblins are placed on the surface close to the mainland
-Added signs to name various in game regions
-Altered locations of two cities (one draconian and one human)
-Added more ruins and artifacts
-Slightly altered some heroes

Sorry for lack of background info on the heroes and wizards, the issue is being currently worked on
