* update 16.1.2011
INSTALL NOTES :
Requires Upatch 1.4:
http://aow2.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=661
Then install the 3in1 pack:
http://aow2.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=828 (457mb)
Finally, install the CoMA-SE batch from this page, to fix a few issues, and you should be all done.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE! use CoMA_ON.bat when starting up the mod, so that you get correct names on abilities, spells etc. (and some other custom things) Use CoMA_OFF.bat to return to normal settings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some outlines about the mod:
This mod aims to enchance the races and gameplay further, to a more "epiclike" level. Spearmen and darters wont get you very far once your opponents get their special units under construction, but low levels arent useless either, with mighty meek being cosmos spell and many of them can grow into more powerful form with experience. At the end of the game however, people should get to see huge armies of monsters of various kinds (along with powerful heroes).. I hope there is enough to choose from for starters. :)
Many of the normal units are altered in a Dwiggs-like way and also most of the fiends in New Arsenal 2 are represented.. There has been excessive amount of "testing" done in multiplayer mode, which I hope has resulted in making the units and races somewhat balanced as well as diverse.
Each race have their strong points and weak points, and some are generally just very versatile (like humans). Orcs for instance have very powerfull melee units (and lose research as racial penalty). Draconians can grow many of their units to a stronger form (7 "evolving" units), but usually have a weakness to either cold or lightning. Many undead have resurgence and holy weakness. Halflings still dont have very good melee units, but nice shooters and some special, strange and sneaky creatures. And Syrons for instance have very exotic units, like almost invulnerable scout Probe, Force Field, Ancient Ones, the Changeling etc..
Heroes are mainly from Dwiggs (and therefore are quite interesting, each having their unique style and description), although bit rebalanced. Ability set and spells are from NA2 as is most other rules currently, hoping it will result in fairly fast gameplay (and it was easier point to start from). Also NA2 settings are set for "epiclike" gameplay with units varying from levels 0-8, powerfull indie monsters, heavy defenders on recruitment structures but also powerfull recruits, fast town developement, good spirit rewards, much gold to be gathered etc..
Ok, hopefully that says something..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is getting to be pretty finalized version..
Work list:
- Much testing for units, general balance and each race . . . (done)
- Unique wizard system . . . (done)
- More balancing for heroes . . . (done)
- More new graphics for overland structures (for RMG) . . . (done)
- All new magical spheres . . . (done)
- Maybe some extra, freeware fantasy music added for custom playlists
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last update:
- Fixed few issues with the installer. The CoMA_ON/OFF.bat should be better configured and wont mess up with existing MLD files (names), or cause desynch issues.
Older version notes can be seen at CoMA.txt

@shodanswastika:
Are you playing custom or random scenario? CoMA is intended mainly for random maps, alltough you can convert custom maps for CoMA with AoWSM Editor.
Also, did you install the packages to right directories? It should say at start of each installer where the files should be installed. ILBs pack3 for example goes to AoWSM main folder, as does the most recent resources update (at red download button). Remember also to install the resources last, and use english language from setup.
Its strange though that the spell descriptions wouldnt change.. Or do you mean the spell names? Anyways, im uploading resource update soon, with bugfixes, so dont give up :)

I only play random maps.Ever since Diablo I've been addicted to randomly generated levels.There's no way to predict where things will be, forcing you to explore everywhere,and there's also no guarantee that its beatable.
What order should I install things in?Ilbs,3-in-1,then the resources?Then run Coma On,right?This may be the problem,as I can't remember what order I installed it in.As far as the spell descriptions,I mean the text at the bottom of the screen when you put the cursor over a spell icon.Btw,thanks for the quick feedback. |

You could try the order: 3in1 pack, ILBs pack3 and then the final resources. Then run the CoMA ON.bat (Or copy files manually as said before, if it dont work). As for spell descriptions, not every spell has altered descriptions, and there might be few cases where ive missed to change them, but many of them should have new descriptions at least. |

Okay,Coma off says the system cannot find the path specified.Coma on says the path it can't find is AOWSM/Dict/oldres.But then it goes on to say that it copied the three mld files in CoMAres.Any ideas? |

Great mod. when i saw the level 5 units i about crapped myself. Also i really like that the fodder units are actually worthwhile.
I'm still missing a couple of unit graphics. The Water Elemental, for example. And also some of the heroes as well. Is there a file i might have missed somewhere?
Man I wish AOW3 was coming out. |

@shodanswastika:
CoMA ON.bat could complain about some things, thats no matter. As long if it works :). If not, you might need to copy few files manually from \dict\comares to \dict. Still its good to run the .bat because it changes the walls heavier.
@ouijabear:
sorry, im not sure in which pack those graphics are from, but heroes are mostly from dwiggs, so you could check that install. But im gonna make a new All-in-One pack soon (hopefully less buggy), so stay tuned :)

ok this is not directed at your mod, but at the game in general -- is it just me or do holy / black bolts ALWAYS miss in comparison to magic bolts and arrows? Am I going crazy or does anyone else feel that holy bolts and black bolts are essentially worthless? is there some numerical reason behind this? |

Well, holy and black bolts do have 2 less Attack than magic bolts, so essentially 10% less chance to hit, but they can cause curse / vertigo and deal different damage type.. |
