ABOUT THE MAP: First true RPG map. A Solid storyline spanning more than two scenarios. Presently only one scenario is designed but work on next will start shortly.
STORY :
'Raznipul: The Demonlord' and 'Anzara: The fire queen' are the rulers of the void. Through tyranny, they have the void under their control. The dreams of conquering the world are ripe in their mind but this is not possible without opening the Titan Gate that separates the void from the World. The Titan Gate magically binds the void throughout and has three powersources / 'keys'. ODROSOL i.e 'OD', 'Ro' & 'SOL' keys are the powersources of the Titangate .If they are moved from their original positions, the TitanGate will lose it's power .Anzara and Raznipul want just that thing to happen. Both of them are powerful in the void but do not have any power outside it. So they also build three powersources in the world with the help of The Nagas, The Orcs and The Goblins. The only thing remaining is to shut down the powersource of the TitanGate. They are successful in doing so ( You will come to know how when you play the map) and all hell breaks loose as demons start popping out from the void into the world. Their mission: Retrieve the keys, the powersource of the Titangate to their masters. Raznipul and Anzara plan to use the powersource of titangate to their own benifit so that they can have a hold over the world also. Now that the Titangate is open, to close the gate, there is a ' Main Titan Key ' that is heavily protected. The mission for Marcus is: Go to the Void, destroy both the devils and restore peace in the world. Some potential allies will help you defeat the enemy in the game.
Please Do not use These Spells in the map:
1) Bind Summoned
2) Shadow Shift
3) Mastery Spells

The second half is bit easy because the attacks cease as soon as you kill Orc Hero Bromboth.
Thanks for the review. I will post an update that will make the gameplay even more difficult. How about that!

This is my first review of a map...
** SPOILERS BELOW YE BE WARNED **
I love single player maps but was always too lazy to review them. It's easier to do it right after played, or details fade away quickly :)
Playability: 5
Relly interesting and fun to play this map. it goes smooth and keeps the player interested at all times. I played it straight till finish after downloading it :D
Balance: 4
It's a nice hard map, but I did not give 5 because I think there are some issues. At day 50, part of the realm of Marius turned into water (part of the story) problem is that my defending army was right into it, so all died :) and can't really move before it happens. Lucky me I keep many saves :)
Also, with that single Satyr from start (Dominate) and Trap, I got some 3 TreeHulks near the Naga city, and kept them with bards Skills. They made the map a cake walk, really, heh. But when controlling all batles I guess that can happen on any map.
Creativity: 5
Very creative map. Good to look at and structures, etc makes sense.
Map Design: 5
I never made a map or such, but I guess this is a good one... maximum score here.
Story/Instructions: 4
The story is good and has a good flow. 4 here because original AoW: SM campaign had the Shadow Demon invasion theme... actually, I think such theme is already overdone in movies, games and books, but that's just my opinion.
Additional Comments:
At the end of the map - something REALLY annoyed me - those infinite death and fire storms. Sure, I had fire halo and 2 main heroes loaded with items and both with Death Immunity too, but I felt kinda cheated... I don't know how to make maps/ much less scripts; but I recommend making those storms happen ONCE walking into the invisible trigger, instead of eveytime one steps into the gate of the shadow fortress, 10 storms happen, lagging game to oblivion and killing even heroes with 30 hp... LOL. I know this is near end of map, but still... also, with the storm mayhem, players can't really even read where those joiners etc come from, and Berserking monsters attacking right away doesn't help either. Feels more like action than rpg at this point :)
Also, those poison clouds surrounding Marinus city are really annoying too; I know they are there to weaken etc. but they lag the game like hell, even on a P4 2.2 ghz with 2 gig ram...
EDIT: I read reviews and comments, so I guess these 2 issues were fixed in a map update, though Im'sure I downloaded it recently, that's odd :/
Last, but not least, I could not end the map at all. I placed the titan parts and the titan key into their respective teleporters (left, right) but nothing happened. Any ideas why?
Congratulations on making this map! It's a real inspiration. I am waiting for the next one! :)

[1]I think there are some issues. At day 50, part of the realm of Marius turned into water (part of the story) problem is that my defending army was right into it, so all died :) and can't really move before it happens. Lucky me I keep many saves :)
That thing is a part of the story and is so sudden an event. This event is a vent to the anger of Asholo for the guys at the recruitment sites for helping out marinus.
[2]The story is good and has a good flow. 4 here because original AoW: SM campaign had the Shadow Demon invasion theme... actually, I think such theme is already overdone in movies, games and books, but that's just my opinion.
All I can say is that this is the theme that people like and it works. It's so sad that you can't create a true love story in AOW:SM. Otherwise, I would've had done one.
[3]At the end of the map - something REALLY annoyed me - those infinite death and fire storms. Also, those poison clouds surrounding Marinus city are really annoying too; I know they are there to weaken etc. but they lag the game like hell, even on a P4 2.2 ghz with 2 gig ram...
They are irritating and have been taken care of in the updated map.
[4]Last, but not least, I could not end the map at all. I placed the titan parts and the titan key into their respective teleporters (left, right) but nothing happened. Any ideas why?
They oughta work. Place the parts in the respective positions and the terrain changes from shadow void to wasteland. you are now ready to teleport to Lands of Gornia. It will again change to shadowvoid if you try taking any of em stuff with you.
Well, thanks for playing and reviewing my map. Actually I do not play a lot of AOW:SM and if you see, this is just my second map. I tried my hand at doing something different, and it succeeded. One thing I have to admit is that I made quite a haste in releasing this map inspite of it being bugged. That's bcoz I had created something like this map earlier named 'the three brothers' for TWT and it never made it to the site bcoz my hdd crashed and I did not have a backup of the map at all. I had spent months designing the map (XL Map) and writing the actionscript only to find it lost forever in eternity. I did not want the same fate for this map so I released it earlier than planned.
Once again thanks for the support of ppl to be curteous to comment and review the map. It really keeps one motivated. I have started work on the next map in TOMM series. I have even uploaded it's images on HG (image no 98,99,100,101 probably if u wanna look). It will be somewhat like morrowind style and include some new concepts. Hope you ppl support me the same way. Cheers!

Hi Sausud,
No problem! It was a true delight to play this map, like I said. Just couldn't stop hehe :)
Maybe I did get an early version and mixed maps up.. I do have like 40 Mods and 100 maps so...
But the bugs didn't influence the outcome that much, and even at the end (having no end), I wasn't that dissapointed, because I knew I did well, who cares if the last part didn't work hehe. Unless I missed a cool final write up :)
Ouch for that map story. only computers can do that to us... hd crash and a piece of us/our work lost forever... good thing I am an old fashioned artist, for drawings will never be deleted from paper :D
About the theme, I would play a map with a love story threw in it, why not :)
Thanks for making maps and for such an organized and sharing response.I am looking forward for next one(s)! (I did check screenshots from next ToMM)
Obs: What's TWT?[Edited on 11/04/06 @ 12:19 AM]

Which part didn't work?
Are you an artist? I too am. Paper media is reliable than Electronic media.
I think I will include some love stuff in TOMM 2.
Thanks for the comments.

Hey Sausud. Congratulations on a very fun and definately unique map. As you can see I've given you five in every category, which means that playing ToM for me was very special. I have some smaller issues that I thínk needs improvement, but nothing that should have an influence on the all-5 rating :)
Playability: 5
(First of all - it's a very cool way to build a story, the roleplaying makes it a whole other experience (but still good!) than with a normal strategic map. I tried to stick with the path that you want Marcus to take throughout the map, which is the best way to get as much out of the scenario as possible. It's a lot of fun with all the custom events and quests you can undertake and I really like that you only placed relatively few items on the map. This makes the finding of a single item a lot more fun, even though its a weak one.
Balance: 5
(If I should give a 4 it should be here. Thats because of two things that makes the game to easy. First of all I got a satyr in the start (poppy?), which dominated tons of units througout the game - even cyclops, who are really powerfull. I think you should remove him or replace him with a unit with seduce instead (less powerfull ability). Second of all, after I got the Titan parts the game became to easy. Either you should get the items very late, or it should only be a single poerfull item. One other thing is the final battle, where I recieved help from an über hero (cant remember his name), together with my other heroes, this battle was also to easy. I surgest that you put in som evil, really, really tough heroes (allways hard to kill) and some more greater demons/anscient dragons or something like that. (Maybe 3 powerfull heroes, each with a pet ancient dragon :). The reason I chose to give a five in this category is because the majority of the map is very balanced, and having only few mana and coins to spare really makes the game very challenging. To keep such a balance throughout most of the map takes brilliant mapmaking, so 5 it is)
Creativity: 5
(A very creative and beatiful map, especially the cities are good eyecandy.)
Map Design: 5
(I think if you try to stick with the story, the map design is really good. You can't totally prevent players from entering areas that are designed for later in the story - so if you want the full rpg-experience its up to the player him/herself to follow instructions.)
Story/Instructions: 5
(Good catchy story. I think I missed an event or two, but I all the important ones I think. )
Additional Comments:
Not a lot - just looking forward to try your next map. Thumbs up, and tree smileys for you Sausud :) :) :)

Hey SmellySock, thanks for the review. From the points u mentioned, I think u liked my map very much. Thank you.
I will be posting an update soon that will solve the balance issues and also add some additinal quests. (If you feel some additions that u think can be made, please post it on my thread in the scenario design section.)
btw, smellysock reminds me of 'Smelly Cat', Pheobe Buffay's favourite song from 'FRIENDS'. |

The last words of the incredible story were: 'Thanks for playing this map...' - I say: Thank you for MAKING this map! I know what damn lot of work and effort one has to spend on such kind of a map and this one really is a masterpiece!
I bow down.
There is but one single thing that I really liked to sweep under the carpet but I cannot: It´s such an unconspicuous thing with such an enormous, destroying impact: The use of the Dominate feat.
With this little cute guy hermie, I built up an invincible army of high-end monsters such as Cyclops or Dragons and other stuff.
I´m not sure if this was the intention of the mapmaker and it surely destroys the balance (to the players favour) and the challenge of the map totally.
Short: Things got very easy from the very beginning due to that little thing.
Better use units with seduce feat if you must (I agree, it makes a lot of fun building an army of seduced or dominated units, but it´s a dangerous thing!!). Dominate is way too powerful!!
Balance: 4
As mentioned, too easy. Challenging only at some times.
Creativity: 5
Creativity of the story: 6 out of 5. Creativity in the use of the editor: 4 out of 5 (towns and places were very nice but somehow, after a while I figured out that most places were quite similar somehow...
One word on the artifacts: Most of them are ok and well-balanced (especially I liked the descriptions) even If I have never come to understand the sense or how to use those wands you find all time being a member of the monk society... But the titan artifacts were a little bit to powerful. But that´s OK, as it impacts the game only at a very late point in time.
But this last hero you get at the very end (this Syron guy...) His powers and artifacts were a little bit exaggerated - he could almost have won the final battle alone, was it not for the Drain will and domination feat of some monsters...)
In total: 5/5
Map Design: 4
I still have my unmatched favourite ;-) So I cannot rate any other map with 5 here ;-( But it´s as near to 5 as it could be...
Story/Instructions: 5
7 out of 5 - without question. Captivating storyline! What damn lot of time must have gone only into writing the complete story which, for sure, is second to none so far.
Perfect balance between action and storytelling! Simply expertly!
Additional Comments:
This is one of the few maps, you cannot, you MUST not miss!
One hint from me for all who seek the ultimate challenge combined with a great story and haven´t played the map before: Go into the editor and replace Hermie (the kobolt - find him on 45,76,0 - surface level) by something else (either a strong unit or something with a compareable feat as dominate, maybe a Slaver or so - set behaviour to 'refuge' - otherwise it won´t join!!!!.)
I´m sure, then you will be forced to the limits!
ONCE MORE: THANKS FOR MAKING THIS WONDERFUL MASTERPIECE !!! I´m looking forward to playing the sequel "Lands of Gornia" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
