A small map with two levels made primarily for 1 vs 1 human play, but should be ok for a game against the computer AI. Some story elements and events. This is my second map submitted. Made primarily for a fast PBEM experience. You should be able to scout your side of the map within the first 10 days after which it will take some time to scavenge, explore and build up for a strong strike against your enemy.

The premise...
Queen Noora and Cruel Grumshank are the two most powerful forces in the small but prosperous valley. A peace has blanketed the valley for the last decade as many independent war leaders hold fortifications separating the two would be antagonists.

By coincidence both leaders have decided that it is now the time to consolidate their power, spread their rule across the rich valley, and dominate. May the strongest and most cunning wizard prevail.

Exceptionally good for PBEM due to the good balance (see below) and an interesting early game. Two starting parties and lots of places to explore lead to many actions each turn, starting from the first one. SP and MP online might be fun also.

Balance: 5
This map is probably the most balanced one I've played so far. Of course, each wizard gets something that another one lacks, like domain on the surface for Elves and ability to research Weaken or get Balloons quite early for Orcs. But overall, both races are almost equally strong.

Creativity: 5
Interesting dungeons, a lot of things accessible by digging, and nice concept of the map itself, with the river with only 2 bridges that divides the lands of the two wizards.

Map Design: 5
Same reasons as above, plus good usage of different terrains that makes the map look good.

Story/Instructions: 5
Quite a few heroes, each with his or her own story. The player is warned each time when some independents are spawned.

Additional Comments:
Although I've played this map only once (with Fubarno himself :)), I'd say that it is my favorite small map so far. The only map I can compare it with is Choice of Weapons, but I prefer Valley of Turmoil because it is simpler in design but still opens more strategic opportunities, at least in the early game.

Lots of choices on what to do. Tons of variety for such a small map.

In playing PBEM, I've found that the elves' access to the Cardinal, combined with getting the first move, is a significant advantage.

Also, the status of some of the indies changes with every game. When a key group of indies (to be hired/seduced/resurrected) is fixed in place for one player while its equivalent on the other side wanders off, it can make a real difference.

Map Design: 5
Loos great, very interesting strategic possibilities.

Story/Instructions: 5

Additional Comments:
I love, love, love this map! It looks great, there are interesting indies, and the strategic possibilities are great, with the multiple underground access points and the tunnelling options.

Between this and your other map, I'm beginning to detect a 'Fubarno Style'. Your maps are pretty dense with structures and indies, which means they're never boring, and from a strategic point of view it's interesting to figure out how much to get done in a turn without overstretching my combat abilities. Your use of terrain is great, and your undergrounds are really well done.

As for the balance issue, I think the other comments are pretty on, but on such a small map, the Cardinal on the elves' side is a potential gamebreaker, and I don't see anything equivalent for the orcs. I've played as orcs twice now in PBEM, and both times the elves had acquired the Cardinal and got him to gold medal by turn 4! By turn 6 they had taken the southern watchtower and resurrected multiple units including the Cyclops. Obviously, my opponent (hi Idealistos!) had played very well, but I just don't see the possibility of an equivalent opening for the orcs. It might be better if the Cardinal wasn't available so early, since it allows the elves to build up their army VERY quickly, and on a small map like this tempo (to borrow a term from chess) is very important.

Even with the balance issue, this is one of the funnest maps I've ever played.

This is one of the most beautiful maps I have ever played. Firstly I would like to say that the scenery is breathtaking. (I actually felt I was in a wonderland.) My personal favorite area is the place where the Elven Hero spawns. Also the sewer system is great. The balance of the map disappointed me. It was almost a cakewalk throught the map. More area Guards would spice up the difficulty level. Also I would suggest you to limit the number of heroes in the map. The Story is good but would have done better with more dialogs.

Overall, the map is just great and you are a good mapmaker. Keep up with the great work mate!

The map is very enjoyable and replayable. It can be either a quick confrontation or a long run of exploration on the surface as well as underground.

Balance: 5
Perfectly balanced IMO. I played both races and managed to build decent forces in pretty much similar time.

Creativity: 5
A lot of events and fun thanks to author's creativity. Not as complex and heavy as some big maps, this gives players time and space to confront each other sooner, but there's still a choice to build big armies and explore the map.

Map Design: 5
Great design in every detail. The map is balanced but it does not look like quite symetrical. Beautiful landscape!

Story/Instructions: 5
Inspired storyline!

Additional Comments:
So far one of my most enjoyable 1v1 maps. I'd highly recommend it to any PBEM and Online/Lan game. Thanks Furbano for the map! Keep up the good work ! :)

(Enjoyable, Exciting, Engrossing, like a good book you can't put it down)

Balance: 5
(Like a fine swiss time piece I played it from both sides and lost equally both times. The game rquires you to think and employ new stratigies. This game is food for the brain and gave new life to an already graet game.)

Creativity: 5
(You deserve bonus points here, off all the Computer Games I have played ( I started playing PC games in 1980) this one hold as much magic and excitement as any of the greats, I wait impaitently for your next release)

Map Design: 5
(As well balanced as Ying vs Yang yet as complex as a Van Gogh Painting. Nice Work.)

Story/Instructions: 5
(Again nicely done, hat off my friend)

Additional Comments:
I look forwad to playing more of your masterpieces!
