MagicLakes is L-sized map with 2 levels and 8 wizards. The map presents the idea of using only low-level units, magic towers and advanced buildings are also restricted. The scenario is more oriented to war than to story line and quests, however, it involves AI-controlled enemy wizard.
Map has huge amount of power custom artifacts, with restriction of unit production it makes heroes more important.
I do not know about balance, and which side has advantage, however, they are not absolutely equal.
The map is incomplete, you could not kill one AI-controlled wizard, so feel victory when you have eliminated ordinal wizards.
I have recommended choosing sides randomly when you first time play the map. Especially with some new mod. The results are unpredicted.
Map is password protected, I can give the password to those who can complete map design.
I forgot to add that map has about 30-40 cities and is ready to fast play.

I was never able to find the Dark Lords hide out. A couple of the teleporters didn't work properly. So maybe that is what is the issue.
I played the Drawfs, it seemed to be a poor choice. The only race that didn't seem to have an underground lair. So I was forced to play above ground with an underground race. The nomads seemed to have a big advantage.
The restrictions made the play different then normal. The AIs seemed to play the lower units more intelligently.

Good map with variety of terrains and strategic issues on how to manaage. it.
As stated not much here.

Yes, Nomads have advantage because of outpost building is disabled by default. So, for more challenge I am recommending to not use caravans while playing them. DarkLord is not accessible in this version, please, treat them as "intellectual independences" and feel victory if you beat all other opponents.
Only why is Dwarves not a good choice? I do not understand it completely.

If you can't win a map, it's not that playable...
Well, not much to say, some wizards are easier to play than others and I guess that's ok. The nomads do have an advantage it seems.
A pretty basic map with basic layuot. Some events would have been nice.

Needs a little more detail. And if you look at the mountains for example, the same mountain graphics has been used too much at the same place.
It's interesting to play with low level units only, but I think this cripples the AI some since he can't spend all his extra cash on uber units.
This map could be ok with some more work.

I do not agree with last (Magogs) review. It was told that one wizard could not been killed. It is like independences. So, feel victory if you have killed all others. If you need victory screen, use cheatcodes.
Story/instructions are not very much needed to such kind of map.
