Ages ago, the mortal races vanquished the evil Plague King. Without his leadership and power, his followers were hunted down or disappeared from the world...and the world prospered in his absence.
Most even forgot he existed.
However, today is a dark day for the world of the living. By some chance a crack in the void has freed Ufergoth II, the Plague King. Weakened from years of imprisonment in the void, he uses what little power he has to snatch Xerlok, his most feared commander, from the demons of hell and resurrect him.
Xerlok wakes underground in the Polar Desert to a voice he thought he'd never get to hear again....
* * *
This is Chapter 1 of a multi-chapter story. It's a one-on-one battle between the Undead (you) and the Frostlings lead by A'qida, Queen of the Polar Desert.
The package includes the scenario, a Readme, the Hero and Item library used for this game (while it only contains a few, all items and heroes are custom) and more story that you'll just have to play the game to see. Lots of events included, so if you like them, feel free to steal the ideas for your own scenarios. |

Yeah, I'd like to add my own comment *about* my comments for my scenario: Wow, I had horrible grammer at 2:30 this morning :) This is the last time I submit something when my eyelids are half shut, and I don't even have an excuse like English being my second language. |

Okay, third time submitting is a charm. The description of this scenario is no longer written by what looks like a 5 year old...maybe a really smart 5 year old...but not an average one ;) Other than that, have fun with the scenario! |

An excellent scenario with a very inovative design and an intriguing storyline. About the only negative aspect that I can say about it is that I think it needs a bit more attention to the aesthetic details. Good work, Josborne! |

The Frosty people have a huge freekin' advantage. I understand that i'm no Hannibal but, give us a break here. I want enjoyment not frustration. Other than that looks good! |

Born ugly, with a pale face that looked like a skull, and large red pimple holes on my head, I was often mistaken for the undead. I had hated the warmth and all those that mocked me.
I was recruited to lead the undead, while still young. They claimed they had gifted me with my looks and power. I hated them for that, and I dreamed of turning the wasteland back to life as revenge. Meanwhile, I became trapped for many years under ice.
When I got free I got to work. There were no longer any nature elementals, and I knew not how to rejuvenate the land, only death magic.
But there was still the frost queen. I would have my revenge on both those who loved warmth and mocked me as a child, and those who loved death. I got to work.
I captured some frostling cities and only pretended to migrate some to death so as to stop my undead servents from rebelling. I allowed the cities to rebel before they migrated and my vampires were busy seducing.
By turn 20, I had enough frostling forces for the great switch. I got rid of many undead (including my undead hero). My vampires were forced to keep working by the elephant riders they seduced, but how they hated me.
I was still getting unasked for 'help' from the undead. Useless horsemen that I had to disband kept showing up. Death storms around frostling cities kept my frost queens busy. After I would capture, I had to clean up the waste so farms could thrive.
Eventually, by turn 67 I prevailed. In the end, my elephants and doomwolves served me well for the last suprising challenge. And the land was clean of the filth of the undead who have made my life so painful.
Now if only I could find some secret magic to change my ugly appearance. Alas that seems to have been lost with the change to the second age of wonder.

multilis3, that is funny! Thanks for the story of your adventures. That helps me with designing the next one by not making it so linear.
I'd have emailed you, but for some reason I wasn't able to access your profile :)[Edited on 09/19/02 @ 01:32 AM]

Your senario was lots of fun (being not so evil), thanks for a great game.

Great scenario, really entertaining. Game is hard, but not impossible. It's fundamental to strike A'quida capital as soon as possible, before "Emperor CPU" has the time to gather a huge defensive army there. Then head to the north to get the death nodes and the 6 incarnates. Absolutely don't waste away those 6 units as they are the only ones with freeze immunity, the only ones you can use to pass the storms defending A'qida's last standing underground.
The only flaw of this scenario is the lacking of an artifact giving freeze immunitity to your hero, therefore preventing him to take part in the final battle....why would you train him up for the whole game if not for the pleasure to see him slay down the frosty bitch ? unfortunately, only one of your incarnates will be able to perform that pleasing task... |

this is surely not one of those nightmares scenarios where you have to manage dozens of cities and heroes...yet it's much more funny and challenging ! See my comment below for further details. |
