John Smith is a yong ambitious wizard. Water is the sphere he is aspecially skilled in. Once he realises that one needs an assistance of a natural aquatic race to claim the power as a true Water mage: "It's rediqules to rely on humans or halflings, they are not designed for powers of water. I will find the ancient Lizard race in the Great Swamp, where its last offsprings are rumored to survive. If only it is not too late..."
So John Smith prepaires for the expedition with his tame frog and two friends - chief Khitan and sir Belendor...
ehm...how am I supposed to conquer Mossburg, guarded by 2 cannons and 10 crossbow-dwarves plus a few strong melee units, just using the low level units recruited around ? it will take just 2 rounds to the AI to slay down my whole army ! I truly can't imagine a way to take that city , and it is the only city available ! Lots of ruins around, but useless without wagons to rebuild them !

This review comes from the now closed site aow2battleground.com. My review system there was a bit different, but I've tried to translate the ratings as good as I can.

In this map you play a wizard who tries to find the lost race of lizards that once existed. The rumor is that they're still alive.... Your wizard travels around with the party and does not stay behind in a city, which makes things a bit different. There are also some other quests along the way.
Balance : 5
Balance is ok. In the beginning when you don't own any cities you have to keep an eye on your gold.
Graphic details : 5
The map is quite detailed but not that pretty.
Story/Instructions : 6
The story is nice and messages are plentyful.
Customization : 1
Creativity : 7
Map layout is ok and there are many events. The exploration sites has been edited some.
Fun : 6
Kind of fun, until your boat gets stuck because of Nimues Freeze water spells.... Things like that are really annoying. And I'm not too thrilled about getting attacked by high level independents all the time...
