DarkMind Very weak map there. Sorry, but this map is lifeless and absolutely boring.
Archduke Did you even read the books? At all? Even just one page? Can you even read? Or did you just think the movie was cool?
AaronHolm This map is horrible! Nothing that is placed is in the correct spot. Landforms are missing. This map maker has no idea what he is doing.

StiltMan Let's see... this is Middle Earth at the beginning of the Third Age, right? Okay, right as I start I'm already seeing alarm bells with the fact that all eight wizards are Cosmos. Um... no, I don't think so. Morgoth is supposedly still alive... erm, we _are_ aware that Morgoth went bye-bye at the end of the FIRST Age, right? Elendil still alive at this point... nope, he died in the siege of Barad-Dur at the end of the Second Age. Saruman's name being spelled wrong is definitely in nails-on-a-chalkboard territory. And, searchm me, but I don't remember any mention of a "Merlin" or a "Marinus" in any of Tolkien's books, either.

I deleted the map before I'd even played it because I didn't wish to feel the physical pain. Play the other Middle Earth map... it's got its warts as well (e.g. Eol actually still being alive) but at least it's got a bit better flavor.

This is a tough scenario for the faint of heart. Relentless pressure from the bad guys.

Balance: 4
See above; any player could win. The other guys beat each other up lustily and often; good game if you like to be an opportunist.

Creativity: 1
This is low only because it fails in being fanatically true to the Tolkein coda. The author would have spared themself the scorching rip he got for being full of glitches not true to literal Tolkein. He should have advertised it as "Tolkeinesque", or "in the tradition of JRRT", etc.

Map Design: 4
OK, it isn't the "real(?)" Middle Earth. But it is a pretty map, with interesting topography; could have used a touch more Underground.

Story/Instructions: 2
Low again for it's deviations from JRRT; otherwise, it's a hack & slash, take over everything you can type of scenario. In other words, pretty standard with some "Tolkeinesque" flavor.
