"One by one, the free lands of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. A Last Alliance of Men and Elves marched against the armies of Mordor, and on the slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth." (Galadriel, in the movie prologue)
These are the events in the prologue of the LORD OF RINGS movie and in the appendices of the LOTR book, and mentioned throughout both of them as well as in THE SILMARILLION. It is 3319 of the Second Age. The Fleets of the Númenórean King Ar-Pharazôn are preparing to assault the Undying Lands while Elendil, Isildur, and Anárion escape to Middle Earth; Gil-galad, Galadriel, and the other Elf heroes form the Last Alliance with Elendil; and Sauron has returned to Barad-dûr to put on the One Ring and take command of the nine Nazgûl.
Version 5.0 is revised to use Beren's Arda mod. Also, it has improved scripting, more events, improved portraits, more map detail, and other improvements.
Settings: Classic Turns, Exploration On, Allied Victory On. The Númenóreans (Syrons though these are vastly changed in the Arda mod) must be a human player, Sauron must be a strong AI. I recommend that the Elves also be a human player -- note that you can have two "players" even on one computer with Classic Turns. The Númenóreans and Elves both win if Sauron is destroyed. |

Highly enjoyable and difficult map. It's probably impossible to play with Galadriel on AI-controlled, but playing this map co-op with my boyfriend it's thoroughly amazing. |

Excellent scenario with great playability, although the throw lightning attack (fire&lightning) doesn't work!!! |

I did notice one issue, in this great scenario...
Of course it borders to cheating, but if you build a Wizards Twr as The Númenóreans, and walk their wizard through the fires in the caverns enough times, he'll die and come back in that town, and suddenly The Númenóreans has access to magic...
Not really a big deal, unless you cheat ;)
Fun map though! |

Playability: 4
(It was very exciting, fun, very similar to others)
Balance: 3
(Balance seemed to give weight to side of good IMO)
Creativity: 2
(I think this is more of a recreation rather than a creative remake of a clasic)
Map Design: 4
(again I was expecting more)
Story/Instructions: 3
(Could be rated higher if story was original or done with a creative spin)
Additional Comments:
Over all not bad, but more needs to be done to make the story your own rather than a remake of one already told.

The 2nd really good Midlle Earth map from Galahad that I have played.
It really captures the arrival of the loyal Numenorans in Middle Earth after the destruction of Numenor very well. I have played it once in the classical setup with me controlling both Elendil and Galadriel. While it might be possible to win the game with just Elendil, the Poison Domain that Sauron casts will make life very hard without access to magic and especially disjuntion. Otherwise a challenging but still fair if obviously not balanced map with a lot of events, esepcially in the beginning of the game.
