So I should have waited a few weeks with my conversion of "After the Fall" :)
Great program. Now everyone has the chance to play the AoW1-Maps he liked most in AoW SM.
Very well made !

Very nice Idea.
I was waiting for a tool like this PawelS.
But now we can see that there are many things that gets lost if we translate a map.
And the map is no more the same after translation.
Maybe it is then better and easyer to make a new map in AoWSM Editor than converting an old one.
But the idea and the tool itself is fantastic!
If the tool can translate some things more than it gets a 5 raiting from me.

The program honestly does what it has to do and it is very pleasant to see again those good old maps... Yes, AoW1 and AoW2 engines are different and it's impossible to make 100% precious conversion, converted maps are raw, but the program really saves time for making AoW1 maps be playable under AoW2.

THis might sound stupid, but how do you run this file? I click on it and the computer asks me what program to open it up with... I created an old Aow1 map 'the Bitterhorn' (on the Aow1 website under a different userid) and cannot wait to convert it...thanx

It's a zip file, you should unpack it and then run "map_converter.exe". If you can't unpack the file, your download is probably corrupt. Try to download the file again.
Btw "The Bitterhorn" is a nice AoW1 map, I'm going to include a converted version of it in a map pack for my upcoming AoW1 mod.
Thanks for all the comments and good ratings! I'm improving the converter to use with my mod, and I'm going to release a new version after the 1.5 patch is out. It will use the upatch units and structures, and some other improvements are planned too.
