Cavern Minimap:
As you can imagine this map is a map of our world. The playable races are: Orcs, Goblins, Humans, Elves, Dark Elves, Archons, Undead and Frostlings (8 Players). Some races seem to have a better position than other ones. For example, the Frostlings - they don't have that many cities and mines, but it is difficult to attack them at first as they live at the South Pole. So I think every race has almost equal chances. Try to find the 4 most powerful items in the world and discover some other secret places. There are no special quests. Lots of extremely powerful independents in the caverns!

It took me some days to create this map and I used the atlas all the time, but I think that every strategy-game, like "Age of Wonders 2", should have at least one map of the real world as it's fun to conquer it! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do, even if there are no special quests or other scripts.

planesmaster Just a quick note to say that this scenario, and several others i have downloaded look fantastic. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time playing them yet, just getting to know the game a little better, but the custom maps I've seen have really impressed me, with the variety and, in this case, a most faithful rendering. Thanks

Very well done map of the world. Probably better in Mulitplayer as the cpu can't build boats. Each race gets their own continent, so there's enough room to build and grow.

Balance: 4
All races are fairly balanced, each has a fair chance of winning.

Creativity: 3
I find this one hard, as it is a map of the world. Heroes are all the same, but there are some custom items (not a lot though)

Map Design: 4
Very well done. The terrain is well done, and quite accurate to the real world. There's not much barren land to speak of, other than the Arctic and Antarctic, but aren't those really barren? The only real flaw here is the lack of underground doodads. Good use of the palette though.

Story/Instructions: 2
There's a little blurb at the start of the map, but no in-game events or messages.

Additional Comments:
All in all, a sound map. Very playable and balanced. Although Draco may think there's too many Rift Lords underground, I think the rest of us who like a challenge will find it nice :p

Mostly a MP melee map, but could be a good SP if edited to allow easier access to the continents via the underground.

I was immediately able to get into this one. It is very well done. And unlike some OTHER scenarios I've played ( -_-;; ), i actually enjoyed it from the start, to the beginning.

Balance: 4
I do not give this one a five for one reason. Timing. You should have waited for the next AOW2 patch, Josh said that the AI will build masters guilds, and thus get each races uber units. With my wizard, I simply just pwned everyone with an 8 stack of fairy dragons (though the map is so huge and detailed, the dragons STILL got a run for their money. Very crafty).

Creativity: 2
This is where the kinks are found in the proverbial armor. I KNOW what the world looks like, I want some events to back up history. Like, i dunno, WW2. Berlin should be a madhouse of units, with Hitler at the helm. You should get a very nice item (and some good economy) if you defeat hitler. you should do this in the map, for it isn't ANYWHERE. Though, it doesn't ruin the map, especially if you are using this map for a multiplayer. Do note that I played this in single player ^_^.

Map Design: 4
I could pull out an atlas and find little islands and such. Faithfully recreated, with appropriate climates. Very pretty. Tip on your next map, though.. don't be afraid to use elevation :)

Story/Instructions: 1
There is basically none, and what there is is unsatisfactory. Sorry man.

Additional Comments:
Overall, this would be a great MP map. Actually, almost perfect MP map. I BEG you to go into AOW2Ed and rerelease it for single player.. when the AI can build Masters Guilds. BTW - Everyone start reviewing my map "The Three Hills". I want some opinions >_>

Good job!

(The playability is very good. I don't give a 5 because a army of 5 Pit lord smash in a lot of games)

Balance: 4
(The balance of the race is very good. All the races are balanced in different ways. Good work!!)

Creativity: 2
(The map is good. But the world is know. I know where the other are or I can suspect where they are.)

Map Design: 4
(The map of the world is do with a lot of attenction. I'm Italian and I want MILAN on worlds map. Denied 5)

Story/Instructions: 2
(Sorry for this but the story and the instruction where are????)

I loved the whole idea of a map based on Earth! A great re-creation of terrain, and huge area makes this an enjoyable scenario. I have to agree that the difficulty rating is quite low, due to the fact the there are no master units. I was able to wipe out 20-30 troops with an army of 8 highly enchanted troops, and in the end I was taking 3 citys a turn. But it was a fun 2 days and 245 turns! As far as the story/instructions I ever need is to know that I need to wipe out everybody!! :)

Additional Comments:Well rendered world map. In order to make it playable I went into editor and got rid of 5 stacks of big bad Lords that almost always killed Gblins and twice me as London. Although they were on guard they's pop out of a cave in Norway and make a beeline for Merlin. Also built a land bridge at equator, otherwise Gobs and Orcs stay in New World. This is a flaw in a number of otherwise excellent maps in SP. Often races can't get into play, or don't, because they don't use boats.

Funky_Chicken The problem with the rift lords etc. underground is that if yu get dragor or a red dragon you can wipe them out and get loads of experience with no risks at all, add some ranged units. Also I think a cool thing to do is replace the hero's with real world people which could be fun.

Very good if you are doing mult-player but since the AI won't build ships you end with N & S American duking it out, antartica lonely and some megabashing in the rest of the continents. I played single player antartica and had a great time. But I did get Draco at the beginning and quickly breathed my way to 8th level before ending up in tibet. Great game after that.

Balance: 5
I would recommend single players play Antartica so when you build boats or ice bridges you can engage the rest of the AI players.

Creativity: 4
Decent but you need some more special items, quests etc. to give it a little punch. The terrain kept things interesting.

Map Design: 4
Good recreation of the world map. The AI really needs some help so how about some land bridges or teleporters a la' the RISK game. You could start everyone with a galley. But for single player the AI needs teleports or bridges to make it happen.

The underground level was too long and tedious. Mixup the creatures with some ranged or flying creatures and reduce the numbers so you don't take them out of play for the non-flying heroes. Add some teleporters and connect the continents underground so you don't lose the aboveground accuracy.

Story/Instructions: 2
Obviously not much here to comment on. But with a little creativity and work you could create different world conflict scenarios. WWII, Roman Empire could be exploited for some great fun.

Additional Comments:

I wouldn't spend all this time commenting on it if I didn't think this was a very good and challenging scenario. Add some tweaks and you've got a great one.
