The genealogy of Aberil maps continues! I offer you here a completely worked over and carefully modernized version for "Age of Wonders - Shadow Magic". Playing experience has been worked in and led to a few corrections and additional facilities. The changes on the map surface are few though. The major part of the renewal constitute a hive of new heroes and a host of new mountable items. We have now in total 50 party-relevant level-1 heroes, 20 of them new custom made with thriving and unprecedented settings and stories. ;) This will make the map a long-lasting fun even for the experienced player.
The map is a fast playing and "adventurised" variant of "Creek of Aberil", which came out for AoW2 - Wizard Throne. Compared with the first original, there is an extra underground level holding a tunnel, a treasue and additional opportunities. On the surface, cities are far developed, but the player cannot walk completely undesturbed by independents. Area guards and scripted indies were added to make the game even more lifely but somewhat moderate in speed. The amount of units at start have been increased and care was taken to avoid fate-dependent uneven chances for one side. For its many possibilities but few running units, this map is a full challenge to the skillful player and a good choice for 1-1 ladder games.
