This is a version of standart Gathering Of Magic map modified by Evil Roc for Duel Games. Version 1.0.

Map is good for PBEM and other multiplayer games. Can be played against CPU too.

Although of large size, map doesn't take very long time to finish; active expansive and scouting players will meet first time on days 8-10 and start fighting after days 15-18. It is good as alternative to small duel maps where action starts and ends very quickly. On this map players will have opportunity to level up their heroes and build up towns and armies, for maneurs and sneak attacks with concealed troops.


If you want to customize wizards, load map in editor and change there:

1) Wizards properties
2) Starting towns races
3) Staring armies - should be of wizards race and include 1 level 3 soldier, 2 level 2 soldiers and 3 level 1 soldiers.
4) Races of towns close to wizards caves (nearest independent town to each wizard should be of his race)
5) Nodes in wizards caves (should be of wizards spheres)

Chascal Hi,

Well done, Evil Roc, but a few things I dislike :

"Explorer" is almost necessary on this map. And "Pacifist" too if you want a second skill for your wizard.
Although I succeeded once with "Scholar", "Bureaucrate" and "Summoner", with the evident strategy to rush the research and the casting of the lvl-3 Summon.

But the whole "random towns everywhere on the map" is a mistake, imo. If one player choose a Neutral race, if you don't choose one too, you'll have a disadvantage. (even if you choose a Good Race with Peacekeeper, because the other wizard don't have to take that skill)
I'm also playing a game with Dwarves against Dark Elves. And I've seen only 4 Evil towns, but 8 Good towns! This is a huge difference, and it's probably killing the balance.

I suggest to choose a race for all these random towns. The closer towns would be of the race alignement of the wizard, while the towns near the center of the map would be neutral races. That way, you can even place all the different races of the same alignement, so that players can "choose" (they will just explore to that direction) which races they want, according to the strategy they want to play.

That was just my thoughts about this map.
