You can play this as a free-for-all map, or alternatively the blue team can play against the yellow/orange team - the choice is yours. If you customize wizards you can choose to be any race except Archons or Undead, but please bear in mind that ALL heroes on this map are (Draconian) flying heroes
Jedi was a very stubborn person who always saw things in black and white, never any compromise or any grey areas. He was 100% right, and everybody else was wrong. The latest bee in his bonnet was flying heroes, which supposedly unbalanced the game
He bleated constantly to anybody that would listen: "Think about this... a draconian hero has the same powers as a dragon plus you can equip him with items and weapons which will provide him special strikes, special immunities and concealment for certain terrains."
His solution: either NO heroes should be able to fly, or ALL heroes should be given the opportunity to acquire flying upon going up levels.
Now there were those who had petitioned valiantly to have heroes other than those on horseback, who had been delighted to see other types of hero (including flyers) appear in the shire. There were those who delighted in finding the strengths and weaknesses of different races, who knew that this game was balanced, and any enemy strength could be countered by clever selection of units. But Jedi would never accept anything less than 100% submission to what he claimed to be true
Fader lapped up his every word, and proclaimed him to be the next great guru, but many continued to point out the weaknesses in his argument. He persisted and persisted, but eventually he went off in a sulk, and was not seen around the shire for an absolute age. The truth was that Jedi and Fader were on one side of the river, set up on their pedestal, untouchable and isolated in their vehement denial of the unfairness of the game. Life went on more or less as usual on the other side of the gulf, but people were disappointed that they were unwilling to accept reality
They knew that flying heroes were a great idea, to be welcomed with open arms, so the option of not having flying heroes would be a retrograde step. They wanted Jedi and Fader to be accepted as part of the shire, not to sit on the other side of an impassable ravine. Building bridges hadn't worked; Jedi and Fader were simply too stubborn to ever consider compromise
Eventually they came up with a plan. Many players throughout the shire had an urge to be proclaimed the very best, the top dog, the ultimate warlord. An enormous competition was organised throughout the shire. and it was named The Ultimate Warlord. By using a little magic they created two icy islands in the ravine, guarded by ferocious ice dragons, with a tiny rope bridge suspended between the ravine and the island. A feared warrior was allowed to stand on this bridge, wearing the toughest known body armour, and fight off challengers who wanted their crown. If the challengers did manage to cross the rope bridge and reach the island, there was always the chance that they would be eaten by the ice dragon, then they had to try to fight their way across to the other side of the ravine, past another ferocious warlord. The ultimate aim of this was to encourage people from the two sides of the ravine to realise that neither was 100% right, nor were they 100% wrong
They gradually found various unorthodox ways to reach the other side of the ravine, including teaching ALL heroes how to fly, but it still didn't really have the desired effect - they just ended up at war with each other! |

Pretty good map, starts everyone fairly close together, but balances well. Takes some work to win. |
