This Scenario takes place just after King Arthur returns to Britain from France after learning that his son, Modred, has claimed the realm for himself. A secondary quest is to obtain the Sangreal which tremendously increases the attributes of the Hero lucky enough to own it... Consequently, his/her goal of eliminating the other wizards becomes substantially easier. Players can choose to play either Morgan le Fay, King Arthur, Vivien, or Modred. |

Playability: 4
Playability is good; not too big or complicated; and lots of interesting items and heroes.
Balance: 2
But the Neutrals are way too numerous and strong. Lots of powerful neutral stacks wandering around and destroying stuff makes this map too frustrating and tough. There is lots of stuff to explore, but if you try to send your heroes out too far they will get killed or else your capital will be conquered by the neutrals. I lost by about turn 15, even after several reloads.
Creativity: 3
I like the idea of an Arthurian map but there isn't anything really special or unique in this map.
Map Design: 3
Attractive and interesting, but I'd like an Arthurian map to have some relation to the real geography of Britain.
Story/Instructions: 1
This is my biggest disappointment with this map. There seems to be an interesting story that this map is based on, but this map doesn't tell it other than the map introduction text. There are no events at all that I encountered, and the signs are very cryptic and uninformative.
Additional Comments:
I had to try this since my username is "Galahad" (although my own maps are Tolkien-based not Arthurian)... This is not a bad map and it's fun to play for awhile, and it's much better than the Excaliber map that was posted awhile I ago. But it doesn't really capture the atmosphere of Arthurian Britain and ends up just an average AoW2 map.
Note: I could have given more feedback if the map had not been password protected.

Since I am the author of this map (MY FIRST ONE), it would be unfair for me to rate it... however....
This map is not time-limited (as seen on many competition and tournament maps), and is instead a reflection of reality...you don't know what's out there, and if your troops are too weak, and venture forth too far from their sanctuary they just might get mauled. If you believe that the independents are too strong, don't download or play this map - its not for you. Also, I didn't think that this was to be a text adventure game (are we trying to emulate the old 'Adventure' game for the Apple II?) Therefore, I did not write a novel in the introduction. Lastly, since (at the time) I was not too familiar with the advanced features of the editor, such as trigger events, etc., I decided to add more flavour to the map incorporating a bit of poetry on some signposts.
I will try (as time permits) to update this map, adding a more colourful intro, making the map geography more accurate, weakening the indies a bit, and trying my hand at event triggers. (any helpful suggestions or tips on the more advanced features of our buggy, frustrating editor would be appreciated - raw373@hotmail.com)
Thanx for your time in reading this...
