All out war is my first “Official” map and it's looking pretty good. Give me feedback if you want at email@example.com or post it on AOW2H in the Scenario Design Forum.
In a land wrenched by war and Famine, six warring wizards fought each other for decades for domain in this land as it holds mysterious and powerful secrets, as the time for ending this vile war draws into hand, they gather their forces as they prepare for an All Out War!
This is a MP map that needs a little experience to handle, but you don't have to be a master of the game to be able to play it but there isn't any scripting in this map as it is a “slugfest” type of map but it does have many little nooks and crannies to explore for those of you that prefer the more adventures side to the game.
You all start with a city, with reasonably good structures already built in and garrisoned with “strong” defenders and you also have a small out-post nearer the front line of battle, this map will allow you to quickly get started without 1 hour of playing just to get enough units and spells to launch an attack, but you will need to prepare a little for any incoming attacks.
As written by the author. You get started pretty fast. But not to fast, it takes the right amount of time to completely build up your cities and forces.
I havn't found any unaccessable places or anything else annoying. It's a fun to play.
Pretty good, everybody starts out with nearly equal forces and strategic positions. Altough the Gobbos didn't did turn out to be not that good in the beginning if you set them to AI-player. I think ots because of the mapdesing why they split there forces early on. Nearly perfect MP-Map without the common patchwork-layout playerdomains.
And that's why it can' get 5. Coz the landscape is advantage or disadvantage.
There are some interesting places but as the author says no scriptings, which whould give this map the edge ;). But there is lots to explore and this is fun. Take a Hero and venture the labyrinth. I wanted to give 3.5 but as this map really kicks out the common maps I played so far its a 4.
Map Design: 3
Well, why is this only 3? Its because the overall Landscape is nice, but it isn't really detailed. Don't panic its reall really well done, but it lacks finesse.
No Story, no Instructions.
I rated it with 5 because of the Overall-Rating-System. (Sorry AoWH-Team) In my Opinion this clearly as a 3.75 to 4.00 map and if I gave 1 point the Overall.. whould be only 3 and many people whouldn't even read the review of a 3.x Map :)
I pretty much recommend playing this map. Its balanced and it looks realistic. The computer (at least at emperor-lvl) gives you some tough fights.
You CAN!!! customize you wizards, wich I prefer.
But be careful with that. Coz every Player starts with a hero from preset-race and if you'd change frstlings into Archons or Undead the hero wont be at your side, he won't even join you. So if you customize your race, chose a preset that has same alignment.
Overall: It's a fun MP-Map DOWNLOAD THIS!!!!
(I dont say that often and this is the first map I downloaded so far which is worth rating and commenting it.)

Pretty good for a single player. Not suitable for multiplayer perhaps largely due to balance issues. (see below)
Sides start out with pretty much the same city structures and strengths, but I found that due to the locations of the starting locations, some sides were at a disadvantage, particular Nimue (humans) which couldn't expand as her population was stuck with the mountains and surrounded by Tigran and Archon forces. In multiplayer it would be too easy to destroy the Nimue's forces. Her two cities are also located rather far apart from each other.
This is a simple map with not many new ideas.
Map Design: 2
I felt that the AI had trouble spreading out around this map. Perhaps some of the objects were too far apart. The Frostlings seem to stay in their own region and walk round in circles. I thought it would be more fun to be able to encounter other races as the game move along instead of just me slowly chomping into their land and them defending.
A short intro and few story elements in this map.
