Enter the sheltered valley world of Kyria. Explore its ancient landscape, and fight for control of its cities and nodes of magic as you discover the answer to the question: What would Age of Wonders be like without heroes?
This is an 8 player scenario spread across three levels, with the Shadow Demons beginning play as the sole masters of the shadow realm. The map runs the default settings, except that I've removed all of the heroes and magic items, and the item forge structure is disabled.
My motivation for making this map is that whenever my friends and I would play AoW, we'd always micromanage our starting hero to godlike proportions, and if the hero died we'd lose interest. Since my TBS background is in games like Warlords 2, I wanted to see how Shadow Magic plays out without heroes.
"No More Heroes" was created for nostalgia reasons and because I wanted a record of my past - something concrete that would be a testament to all the hours I plowed into Age of Wonders. I have written up a blog post detailing my playthrough of the map, which can be read here:
