Dozens of Quests, new attractive heroines and units, hundreds of majestic events, powerful items, strong role-playing elements, breathtaking story-line, suspense that keeps you constantly overthrilled and our original contribution: endless spicy humor! Everything comes together in this finely balanced scenario, specifically designed for multiplayer games and tested multiple times in hot-seat and LAN.
This does not mean that one cannot play alone taking one of the four different races. Each one, although balanced, has its own story and fun. However, most of the thrill will be lost that way. It is up to you really!
This is a game where you should NOT move around conquering everything, destroying and killing any individual you see. You must follow instead the story carefully if you want to maximize your chances of winning the game. All players are of course free to create their own story but must be aware that they will waste great resources if they do so.
Coop vs AI is strongly encouraged, especially in the beginning of the game. Eventually however each player, according to the taken quests might need to follow his own path. At the end of the game only ONE will stand as winner, although ALL will share the same fun!
The original scenario was developed several years ago for AOW2:WT using GMM, but since then has been greatly re-shaped and adopted to SM. The Amazon race included in GreenMOnster's Mod, so downplayed in SM, has been included in the scenario.
Please do not customize wizards or change anything at the default settings. Everything is set up in a way that the balance between players and AI is preserved.
Enjoy the game and please do not forget to send us comments for improvements! If the community enjoys the scenario and rate it well, we will be honored to upload more of the already prepared scenarios, or develop new ones according to your suggestions.
Uli, Val, Steve, Max
p.s: nothing of the rich story is presented here, as it will unfold during the game.
p.s 2: the scenario is password protected for one and only reason: not to spoil the fun of the players that will be surely tempted to check!
p.s 3: The scenario has been updated and makes use of 1.4 patch. Read the readme.txt file included for useful information.
----Version 1.1----
- Minor bugs fixed,
- a couple of missing descriptions added,
- even more supporting events added,
- even more new attractive heroines added!
---Version 1.2----
- Clarifications added
- More detailed descriptions added
- More side-events added |

Map is password protected, unfortunately. |

The scenario is indeed password protected. The reason for this is that players must remain unaware of both map and events as even a tiny hint of any of those elements would spoil the story-line and the role playing elements.
However, if reviewers AFTER playing the map are interested for a closer look on the design, contact me at max.magician@gmx.ch for the password. |

I downloaded 7-Zip (freeware) to extract Amazonia
-it works.
If sombody still has problems to open the scenario, the Readme instructions seem to have
two mistakes.
At point 1., the intire folder Amazons should be
copied and pasted to
...\Age of Wonders Shadow Magic\User\Resources
Otherwise you can't follow introduction point 4.
becouse when you run AoW setup, you cannot select
Amazons. Besides the name of the resource is
Amazones and not Amazonia then.

I play this scenario three days in a row together with my gf and her roomate, hotseat. We barely slept the last two nights, we've skipped university lectures and gym and we are still not even in turn 100.
What can I say? The story is extremely catching and funny, independents are strategically located and events keep coming up (I hate it when scenarios are promising loads of events and what they mean is events every day up to turn X and then nothing). We met the bad guy pretty early in the game but we managed to escape him. He hasn't bothered us since then. A very nice surprise was a new neutral race that might prove very useful. Also the quests so far are quite funny and it seems they follow the scenario. The items are all changed and renamed in a funny way! Do not miss reading the descriptions! Especially for the new or changed units and for the heros. Some are brilliantly hilarious! I warn you that the scenario is difficult, not a good starting point for newbies.
The races that we play (goblins, humans, elfs) have been reworked and we had some nice surprises there as well.
Some "bugs" have been detected, but I am not sure if they were intented or not. I sent a report to the map maker.
I promise I will do a full review once we finish the scenario, but so far it is very promising. |

I updated the file. Now version 1.1 is there, solving some minor problems, mostly of clarification. I took the opportunity though to add several goodies! :)
Dear lympf,
Thanks for the clarifications. I have updated the readme.txt file with the correct instructions.
Dear Otto,
Sorry for causing such trouble! :) The "bugs" you mention are not really bugs but rather due to some unclear points. All these are corrected now.
Thanks all for your emails! I hope that the new version solves any issues that you mentioned and makes the game even better! |

I have a number of quests that don't complete even though I have done what the stated goal was... is that part of the humor. And some of the dialogs appear to do the opposite... like give the drawf's a password?
Other then those issues it is a very interesting map. I am playing single player so will not rate as it wasn't intended for that. |

dear Ratpeddler,
This sounds really strange as the map has been playtested many times. Would you be kind enough to let me know which quests you are refering to? Please send me a private message to max.magician@gmx.ch
I promise I will come back to you asap.
Thanks! |

sounds extremely exciting ;) I personally don´t care at all about password protection and completely understand why you´ve done it!
I´m trying to convince some players to give it a try in a pbem - to me it sounds as if it was worth it!
Once played, I´ll also paste a review!
Good to see there are still people around who make story (event) driven maps :)
(I´m saying this without having even downloaded this one yet so I hope I won´t regret it ;) but my gut-feeling tells me I won´t ;) ) |

Playability: 5
Fun: 5
This is the funniest scenario I have played. There were moments that we could not concentrate on playing and instead we were laughing our hearts out! Perhaps our humor is perverted but we still largely enjoyed it!
Fatigue: 5
First game we were playing to turn 121 four days in a row, almost with no sleep, food or water! All three of us were nailed on our chairs. This says it all.
Bugs: 4
There had been some small bugs in version 1. Second time we downloaded and played version 1.1. No really bugs were there, but I think that there are some small map design errors. I sent a report, I hope in the next version will be solved.
Events: 5
Not too many but enough to keep you busy all the time! And most of them are really interesting and help the story to develop.
Execution of Events: 5
Perfect in line with the story of the game. Without some of them it is very difficult to move on. Quests must be completed, otherwise the bad will kick your butt!
Replayability: 5
We stopped playing in turn 121, we were loosing the game. We started again, with different races. We lost again because we followed the strategy we were using in the previous game. Big mistake as the strategy for each race is different. We started a third time and we finished the game in turn...200 after many reloads! The surprising thing that this time different events popped up! Now I can't wait to replay the game with my gf, choosing another race and in PBEM mode with classmates. Wonderful!
Balance: 5
Winning balance: 5
All four races (we played all!) have similar chances to win: really low! Basically without coop vs Ai I doubt that it is possible for anyone to win the game. After the CPU is out, the cards are reshuffled and it is like the game starts again.
Starting positions: 5
Painstaking balance for all players.
Heros: 5
Although each races requires different strategy the heros that progressively join in, are similar in strength and abilities, given the specialties of each race.
Creativity: 5
I do not go to each of the criteria in this category but instead I say that I play AoW2 nearly ten years and I haven't enjoyed a game so much! Balance between scenario, rpg, strategy and fun. Truly unique. AI is very challenging and surprises never stop. In terms of originality I think that this scenario is also unique.
Map Design: 5
Graphics used: 4
Although the map is detailed and proper use of graphics has been made, there are other better maps. However I must say that this is not necessarily a disadvantage as it doesn't tire the eyes. This is very important as the game needs hundreds of turns to be completed and I think that simplicity was desired by the designers of the map.
Objects used: 5
Lots of places to explore, but not too many to distract you from your main objectives. Signs and other objects are used only when necessary and not for the sake of just using them. Independents are cleverly placed and their AI is challenging.
Story/Instructions: 5+
Background story: 5+
A great story that makes you feel part of it. I do not say more not to spoil the fun!
Depth: 5
Without the story the game looses half of its value.
Events as parts of the story: 5
Without the events the game looses the other half of its value!
Author's hints: 4
The author is very modest. I do not understand why he does not reveal more for the game. However I respect this I dont say anything more.
Additional Comments:
Play the game. Do not waste time playing alone, but get some friends and share the fun!
