here is a map which i worked on a lot. i designed this map for my plessure so i did lots of playtesting an somekind of balancing. balancing was not my intention as this is no turnamentmap. the language of this map is german, i will summarize the story and the general idea of the map below.
every player can recruit more units than just the racial of his maintown. to do so he has to free/recruit heroes and eventually do some tasks. afterwards he can recruit units at his sign-marked structures once a day (with the appropriate hero). gold needed is written on the signs. DO NOT RECRUIT HEROES WHICH ARE NOT THOUGHT FOR YOU! that is the only rule for this map.
this is a 4 player map, designed for 2vs2. but you can play 1vs1vs2 if declare war with your ally. i played it only versus pc-opponents and the difficulty is fine for me and i hope for most players. pc-players receive extra gold, mana and units. in terms of balance i did the basics but its not that balanced at all. some races are better in the beginning, some better in "lategame". so i tried my best, but balance was not my main-criterion.
the orcs want war, the archons dont want the orcs to win. the shadow deamons want to devour, the dracons want to prevent this. the first 2 dont know abaout the last 2 and vice versa. all sides look for new or old allies to get an advantage in the upcoming battles. none of the 4 knows about the "conflux of elements" being in the centre of this area. there are some secrets with it.
i hope you enjoy the map even though its in german. its not fun for me translate all the stuff. i did lots of work in terms of detail and event-design. the only known bug is that the shadowdeamons can get a orc staring-hero. i cant put them to anarchiest as there would be problems with one of there "allies".
please comment how you like the map and what you think could be changed or improved. this is the first map for which i did this much. i hope you see the "heart's blood" put into this map.
thanks to the groll and his maps which gave me much inspiration in terms of design and atmosphere.
