This maps shows promise, but it will still need quite a lot more work before it meets the high standards that members of this forum have become accustomed to. There are far too many pine trees for my liking, not enough shrubs or decoration (except for a few hexes in the bottom right corner of the surface), and a lot of hexes in the caverns and the shadow world are completely undecorated. This makes the map feel unfinished.
"try not to mess up the scenery too much, I put a great deal of work into it ;)"
That bit made me smile. This map does not have any UPatch 1.4 content, and it's surprising how much of a difference that makes. At least the map has some places that look exciting and different, such as the dwarven rows of machines, or the shadow world magic relay / cosmos node area around 32,34,3, so it is definitely more intesrsting than Violet Lev's Bewitched Land map, for example.
Still has a long way to go before it is another Race to Death - Rise of Evil or Drums of Death, however. Maybe check out those maps for some inspiration?
Regarding the custom resources, most email games (that I play in) forbid mastery spells anyway, so they won't be missed at all. Whether terrain-changing effects are something that we will miss is rather more controversial, however. Some players have a deliberate strategy of visiting your capital city with a reaper or frost witch purely to screw up your income, for example.

Please *update* (it's a small button, I know) the current file with the new one instead of creating a new download.
(Here's what you had in mind for that one...
fixed some pathing errors in the underground
added some greebles to underground level
added the secret room
fixed haven teleport events so they work
added a few heros for people
added some shrubbery in varying places
added lake off the gobbo warrens)
