Things - Cave/Shadow Portal
The Cave and Shadow Portal allow players to pass between the surface and underground, and the surface and shadow world, respectively.
NOTES:
- These things can only be added to the surface level.
- These things can only be added when the corresponding level exists for the scenario.
To use these "things," first add the level to the map
(if not already added). The underground and shadowland are both added by selecting from
the menu, Options and then Add Underground or Add Shadow World.
Once the level has been created, change to it using the Level Up and Level Down buttons on the tool bar under the menu.
The Cave and Shadow Portal "things" can be found on the Places palette to the right side of the editor.
There is a new Cave item which works the same as the old one, but has a different look to it. It is also found on the
Places palette.
Placing any one of these "things" on the surface will create a linked
passage at the same (X,Y) location on the corresponding level.

Cave Special
Placing a Cave on water or painting over a placed Cave
with water converts the cave into a "water-cave." This "thing"
will allow ships to pass between the surface and underground levels if the cave opening is on water on both levels.
Units which can pass through water terrain will be able to use the "water-cave" passage.
