Shadow Magic Story Elements Part 5: Signs - A Small But Important Contribution to the StorySigns are usually used to note various distinct regions of land and special locations on the map. They can also be used to refer to places mentioned by message events and for giving clues to where quest objectives may be found. Use them like road signs to direct players to a special location, as a warning sign of impending danger just around the corner, or place them just to add character to a place. Signs add some realism to a map. Signs aid players in writing turn-logs in single player or pbem games. Signs make the world feel a little more "lived in." ![]() Sign: "The Ancient Frozen City of Arkus" ![]() Sign: "Warning! Enter this cave at your own risk!" ![]() Sign: "North to Skirian Forest, West to Town of Abon, East to the Elven Peaks." How to make a sign: In the editor, select and right click on the placed sign, then select "properties" and a properties window will be displayed. On the properties window, type in the text for the sign. There is no apparent limit to the number of words that can put on a sign. |
